If you landed on this website, you are probably a friend or a friend of a friend. You´ve probably heard that Melissa (or Vanessa or Gingging or Marvi) live in Iceland and can put together an itinerary
for you! We do! We can! It is our pleasure. We love showing our adopted home to friends and want to make sure that everyone is SAFE and will have a good time. So, we decided to put our heads together and pool our resources. |
|
Here is how we can help ( Mao ni among ikahalad sa among mga higala):
1.) Send us an email here and tell us what you want to see & experience in Iceland.
2.) We´ll do the research and put together an itinerary. We can also put in as many as 3 tour providers so
you can compare the costs and budget accordingly.
3.) Choose your tour and we´ll make the calls and reservations. It´s always cheaper for locals.
That way we can sleep soundly knowing that you won´t get shafted by shysters.
4.) Buy us beer (or wine, or okay...we´ll accept coffee) when you get here. We also go weak in the knees for things from home
( like danggit, tableya, Vicks, efficascent oil :-) , John Lloyd Cruz... )
Most of all, we´ll help you make the most of your stay by sharing secrets only locals know ( mainly because much of the really good information is in Icelandic which we speak, read and write...but not "sign" although we´re working on it).

Is it true that ICELAND....
...is best visited during the summer months?
Well, it depends on what you want to see. Of course, temperatures are milder during summer (it´s like the whole country has outdoor airconditioning) but then the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is best seen on cold, still, wintry nights. Winters also bring out an explosion of Christmas lights and some Icelandic villages turn into Santa´s Headquarters. Whether summer or winter, Iceland is always magical.
...is VERY, VERY COLD and full of ice?
It´s not that cold! There is a warm gulf stream that allows Iceland to have a warmer climate than the rest of Scandinavia. Winters are rather mild. New York is colder.
...gets really, really dark during winter?
There are days during winter when the sun shows itself only three hours daily, Icelanders see this as simply a longer time to party! Winter nights are also more blue than pitch black. There is always enough light to see by.
...has 13 Santa Clauses?
TRUE! Actually, they are more like naughty boys who come during the night leaving goodies for kind children and maybe coals for the mischievous ones. Christmas in Iceland is magical. Snowy days and warm cocoa nights are what winter Christmas cards are all about! Come experience a real white Christmas.
