SUMMER for us is between May to August but the best time to come is from July. Summers in Iceland are perfect!
There´s lots to do during summers. Here are the "essentials."
1. Golden Circle: The classic Gullfoss (Golden Waterfal), Geysir, Thingvellir (site of the first parliament and where the North American and European continents meet). We recommend taking joining the bus tours because there are several trips daily and you can buy tickets online. (Price Range: 75-80 USD) 2. Jökulsárlon (Glacial Lagoon): |

Family Friendly Adventure
Families have fun in Iceland! You can go horseback riding while staying in charming country cottages with hot tubs.
This is a 5 day itinerary. SUGGESTED PLAN: Day 1, Blue Lagoon: Arrive at Keflavik International Airport and immediately proceed to the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa where a relaxing 1 to 2 hour dip restores your energy. Day 2, Reykjavik City: One or all of us will walk with you around the city (Harpa Concert Hall, Hallgrimskirkja, Arctic Voyager, Viðey Island, etc.). We suggest getting the Reykjavik Welcome Card that entitles you to free entrance to museums, thermal baths, free city buses, free ferry ride to Viðey Island where the Lennon Imagine Peace LIght is. If the weather is good, we can grill ! Day 3, Jökulsárlon & South Iceland: Drive to the glacial lagoon or Jökulsárlon, then after that you can slowly drive back to Reykjavik through south Iceland stopping at several waterfalls (Skógafoss, Seljalandafóss, etc. along the way). |
We suggest staying overnight at a country cottage in Fluðir or Kirkjubæjarklaustur. We have a few friends with these cottages and can suggest staying with them. There are many things to see on the way back.
Day 4, Golden Circle: The classic Gullfoss (Golden Falls), Geysir, Thingvellir tour. After the night spent at a farmhouse B&B or a country cottage, you spend a leisurely drive stopping at the classic "things to see in Iceland." Take time to stop by Friðheimar, the tomato farm. |
Day 5, Snæfellsness Peninsula: Colorful rhyolite mountains (yep, just by the road), pink beaches, lava fields and even a shark museum where you can have a taste of Iceland´s famous hákarl. This is a day trip and when you get back to Reykjavik, you can either just relax in your hotel or maybe do a beer tasting at the Microbar where beer made from glacial water is served.
Day 6, Bye bye Iceland :-( |
Midnight Sun GolfA round of midnight golf at the northernmost golf course in the world PLUS a complete tour of Iceland. Take part in the Arctic Open and get to see the whole of Iceland in the process.

A day with Icelandic horsesIcelanders are very proud of their horses and rightly so. Known for its sure-footedness, Icelandic horses are stable in rough terrain. Going on horseback in the Icelandic countryside is also a fantastic experience to camp, share stories and experience what is uniquely Iceland.
IMPORTANT: Because of weather conditions, experience of riders and other special requirements which may come up, the tour plan may change. |
