Here are a few things we love to do, and hope you experience too on your winter holidays.

Photo Safari
(northern lights + arctic wildlife+,  ice & steam natural wonders)

Iceland has landscapes that awaken the creativity of both amateur and serious photographers.  You probably have access to our facebook pages and see how we chase after these photos as soon as we have free time :-) We might even convince some of our photo guide friends to take you along!

Winter Lights Festival

Reykjavik´s long days of winter darkness are illuminated by fantastic light shows. Many of Iceland´s major public buildings and landmarks transform into magical fairytales of light.

We´re thankful for this festival since winter nights can be looooong and boring. There is only so much hot chocolate we can hold in our hot little hands.

White Christmas in Reykjavik

With 13 Santa Clauses, Christmas elves, trolls and other sorts of fairy creatures, the Icelandic Christmas is as magical as it can get.

Full disclosure. These "santa clauses" or "yule lads" are actually trolls and have names like Spoon Licker, Candle Stealer, Meat Hook ( we know, rapper names), etc. Their mother (Gryla) and father (Leppaluðir) are also baby stealing, baby eating monsters.

Thorrablot (Thor´s Feast):
The Viking MidWinter Feast

Are you a culinary adventurer? Take on the strength of Vikings by trying traditional Icelandic winter food with Icelanders.  Don´t worry, other delicious Icelandic dishes will also be served. Traditionally available in February but special group feasts can be arranged throughout the year.
